Gearbox have revealed that players of the original Borderlands will receive exclusive skins and heads for character customisation within Borderlands 2.
Gearbox revealed the news through their community site, Gearboxity. When players who played the original Borderlands boot up Borderlands 2 they’ll be treated to some exclusive skins and heads.
It works through recognizing an original Borderlands save and unlocking the bonuses through that, so if you’ve deleted your save file or you’re playing Borderlands 2 on a different platform than you did Borderlands, you won’t get them.

The “heads” part makes me think of the rumors of Duke Nukem being a playable character(think i read that on here).
