Last year, THQ announced a downloadable Saints Row game for Xbox Live and PSN named Saints Row: Drive-By. This new game that would unlock content in Saints Row 2 has been cancel according to “THQ employee’s” resume on Linkedln. Why and the status of the 3DS version after the jump…
This game was originally being made for the Xbox Live Arcade and the PSN with 3-D capabilities. Once the opportunity arisen from Nintendo, THQ saw fit to release it on the 3DS also. During development of the game, THQ’s Head of Core Games, Danny Bilson stated, “It’s going to be a different. We actually changed the design and are doing something more unique. This is just creative but we wound up feeling the game we were building was too much like a section of Saint’s Row that you could play in Saint’s Row. Mr. Scott Rogers, “Creative Manager for THQ’s CORE games, CORE Digital Games Group and Kids and Family Groups” has posted a resume stating the game is canceld for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
If true, it looks like those changes may of been bad enough to cancel the new downloadable game. No announcement as of now on the status of the 3DS version.
