This morning we’re pleased to bring you the official launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which is chock-a-block with things guaranteed to caress your intrigue nodules.
“Such as?” you ask? Well, it features jet-powered wingsuits, cannon-equipped AGRs (think of a squashed AT-AT with big guns on it), wrist-mounted grappling hook launchers, miniature reconnaissance bugs, automated assault droids, stealth cloaks, and loads more besides. See for yourself:
Also, it would appear Treyarch has made some significant visual improvements to Black Ops II’s engine since the shooter’s initial reveal. We admit there’s a possibility that the action on show came from an amped gaming rig, not a console, but even so the game’s looking mighty fine.
At least once a day, someone somewhere says something to the effect of “Call of Duty is [insert derogatory term/expletive of choice here]. It’s just the same game rehashed year after year” – and to an extent perhaps this observation is accurate. However, with its less linear campaign, entirely reworked multiplayer and continuation of the stellar Zombies game mode, we believe Black Ops II will force the haters to change their tune when it arrives on November 13th.
